The purpose of the home visit is to meet all family members talk through things like the responsibilities of owning a dog, what kind of dog you’re looking for in terms of age, personality, activity level, etc. We’re going to take a walk around to ensure that the environment is safe for the addition of a new dog (or puppy) Don’t fret! While they will look around the house, this isn’t to make sure the beds are made and the dishes are done. It’s just to make sure that there isn’t anything that may be unsafe for a dog.
Please be sure when you schedule with the volunteer that you allow for approximately an hour and that all members of the household, including any dogs and cats, are able to be present and engaged in the discussions.
Once your home visit is completed, JRs will review your application, all checks and the home visit report. Within 2 business days you should get an email from us with your approval and any conditions.
Now that you’re approved, you’ll want to check out our available animals on our website. Once you’ve found one that peaks your interest, you’ll want to reply to your approval email.
Once you reply to your approval email, the office will let the foster know to reach out to you directly. The foster will talk about the animal and potentially set up a meet for you to come meet the animal.
All household members and current dogs need to attend the meet and greet.
They will be at the foster home or the rescue in Salem Lakes, WI.
It is good for one year.
We have found over the years that our return rate is considerably higher when puppies under 6 months are adopted to families with children under 8. While we realize that this might be disappointing to you, we have lots of wonderful puppies who are 6 months or older and they are past the biting, chewing, and not sleeping through the night stage.
We would be happy to accept your donations. We are located at 121 N 120th St, Wauwatosa, WI 53226 and our office is currently open from 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for donation drop off. We do request that you let us know approximately when to expect you, so we can ensure you’re well taken care of by emailing info@jrspupsnstuff.org.
The cost to sponsor a full litter is $500, and a single dog is $100. Sponsorship generally includes naming rights, your logo on photos and your business mentioned in all the dog’s advertising, and potentially the opportunity for the dog(s) to visit your place of business. You can read more about the Sponsorship Terms & Conditions and if you’d like to start the process, you can fill out the Sponsorship Application.
